The Polish chicken is a European Heritage breed known for their distinctive crests — also called 'top hats' — and their large cavernous nostrils. Their crest of upright head feathers can be attributed to what is called a vaulted skull.

Polish are gentle and docile birds, but their crests limit their vision, causing them to be timid and easily startled. Polish hens are decent white egg layers and rarely broody.

White Polish

APA CERTIFIED FLOCK

The White Polish chicken is one of of the prettiest varieties of poultry, sought after by hobbyists and fanciers. These dainty, snow-white birds have dramatic top crests, long gray legs, and a quiet personality.

White Crested Black Polish

The mature White Crested Black Polish represent a striking contrast in color with their body plumage of lustrous black and crests of white with a few black feathers. The little chicks are cunning with their black bodies and white "top hats". You will be delighted with these lovely and interesting chickens which are useful as well as attractive.

Buff Laced Polish

Buff Laced Polish are very rare breed of chickens. Polish chickens are a European breed known for their distinctive crests, or "top hats." Polish chickens are gentle and docile, but their crests can limit their vision making them timid and easily startled.

These birds have rich, golden buff feathers neatly laced in creamy white, and dainty slate blue shanks and toes. The flowing crests and sprightly carriage make them one of the most prized breeds.

Our Buff Laced Polish come in two varieties: bearded and non-bearded. However, we do not list them separately. Orders will usually include some of both.

Buff Laced Polish hens are good, productive white egg layers and rarely go broody and non-setters. Day-old baby chicks are a creamy buff color with a dark tan mark over each eye.

Golden Polish

Here is another fine example of the crested fowl and among the most ornamental of all. These were brought to their wonderful point of development by European and English breeders as long ago as the mid 1800's. Very showy and also useful layers of white eggs. Baby chicks are a dark brown.

Silver Polish

Here is another outstanding exhibition variety, a member of the ancient breed of "Poland Fowls", and one most striking in appearance. The plumage is silvery white, each feather laced with lustrous black. Hens lay white eggs, are non-setters.
