Amprolium, the active substance of Amprol 128, is a thiamine antagonist. The anticoccidial effect of Amprolium is achieved by inhibiting the Eimeria spp. to uptake thiamine. The thiamine requirement for Eimeria spp. is, compared to animals, relatively high and therefore Amprolium will cause starvation of the parasite because of thiamine deficiency. As this way is unique, Amprolium does not show cross-resistance with other anticoccidial preparations.A development confirmed that over 90% of the Amprolium consumed by the bird remains in the intestines and is eliminated within 48 hours.

• For prevention and treatment of coccidiosis in growing chickens, turkeys and laying hens
• Mode of Administration: Orally, with the drinking water. Medicate the drinking water with AMPROL 20% powder at the 0.012% level and continue for three to five days. In severe breakouts a 0.024% amprolium level should be used. It is recommended to continue AMPROL Soluble Powder at a 0.006% level for an additional one to two weeks. Use as the sole source of amprolium. No other source of drinking water should be available to the birds during treatment
